LET Award Winner 2022

Alex Roberts & Co | No Place Like Home

Alex Roberts & Co. is a creative partnership between theatre-maker Alex Roberts, Co-Producer Kirsten Peters Roebuck and a network of artists passionate about exploring LGBTQIA+ narratives. No Place Like Home is their debut solo show, co-created with Cameron Carver and Jac Cooper.

On a night out in a gay bar, Connor meets Rob.  One’s a newcomer, the other has been on the scene far too long. But when a kiss leads to a brutal attack – who’s the victim and who’s the perpetrator?

Fusing spoken word, music, dance and video art, No Place Like Home is a tragic odyssey into gay club culture and the places we can call home.

We loved the concept of the piece and it was brilliantly executed by Alex through a combination of controlled physicality, a lyrical script and some beautiful projection work. A much-deserving winner and we can’t wait to watch the journey unfold for them – it’s guaranteed to be a special one.
