Our work includes award-winning, international stage shows such as ‘The Trench’, ‘The Terrible Infants’ and ‘The Vaudevillians’. Groundbreaking immersive work including Olivier-nominated ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’, ‘Dinner at the Twits’, ‘The Game’s Afoot’ and ‘Inside Pussy Riot‘. Innovative outdoor family touring work such as ‘The Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie’ and ‘The Fantastical Flying Exploratory Laboratory’ and large-scale public events and installations in the corporate and cultural sectors for the likes of The British Library, the V&A, Stella Artois and Toyota among many others.
Run by Oliver Lansley and James Seager the company is dedicated to creating original, innovative and exciting theatre. Known for our striking visual aesthetic and innovative use of props, puppetry and live music we are constantly pushing ourselves to explore new ways of telling stories and immersing ourselves and our audiences in the weird and wonderful worlds created by our shows.
Our artistic policy is to make theatre we love and theatre that excites us, and we hope in turn excites our audiences.
Founded in 2001 by Artistic Director Oliver Lansley, the company had received consistent critical acclaim, won top industry awards, and established a large and loyal following for its unique work. The company were nominated for an Olivier Award in 2015, made the Stage Power 100 List in 2017 and was nominated for The Stage Innovation Award in 2016. Longtime collaborator James Seager came on board as Producer to co-run the company in 2005.
The company has performed to thousands of people all over the world including Poland, Czech Republic, Dubai, Norway, Singapore, Australia, as well as building a large and loyal rural touring audience.

The children’s arm of Les Enfants, Les Petits Theatre Company, was established to inspire, enthuse, entertain and delight young audiences. Oliver is the Artistic Director of Les Enfants Terribles Theatre Company. He is a writer, director, producer and actor and is involved in the direction of all the company’s output.
Oliver’s first published play IMMACULATE was listed in the top ten best-selling plays at Samuel French London in 2010. In 2011 his Les Enfants Terribles: Collected Plays was published by Oberon books, along with a number of other titles including FLIES and THE INFANT. Oliver has seen his work produced all around the world as well as being translated into several different languages.
A past winner of Channel Four’s Multi-Talented Award and also a Broadcast magazine HOTSHOT.
Oliver co-created BBC 2 series WHITES, and Rose D’or nominated ITV2 series FM. Other work includes Nick Frost series MR SLOANE and Alan Davies LITTLE CRACKER for Sky, which he also directed.
As an actor he’s best known for playing Kenny Everett in the BAFTA-winning THE BEST POSSIBLE TASTE which earned him a Best Actor nomination at the RTS Awards. Other credits include: THE WRONG MANS, SHERLOCK, HOLBY CITY, EASTENDERS and MISFITS.
Theatre Credits include playing Eddy in Berkoff’s GREEK at The Riverside Studios to lead roles in the numerous LET productions he has toured nationally and internationally with THE INFANT, THE TERRIBLE INFANTS, THE TRENCH, ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON, THE VAUDEVILLAINS.
James Seager is Les Enfants Terribles Producer. He has over ten years experience in theatre, television and film. Involved with Les Enfants Terribles initially as an actor, he moved to producing and directing shows in 2005. He has produced many award winning shows for the company including THE INFANT, IMMACULATE and ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON.
Alongside producing the companies output he has also directed THE TERRIBLE INFANTS (UK tour, European tour, Asia and Adelaide Festival), THE VAUDEVILLAINS (Charing Cross Theatre, The Lowry) and the award winning critically acclaimed THE TRENCH (two UK national tours). Other Les Enfants Terribles work includes outdoor speciality events such as Petersham Playhouse’s Halloween event LA PETIT MORT and THE HEIST (Champions League semi final event).
He is also an experienced actor with such theatre credits including WHIPPING IT UP (New Ambassadors), ROMEO AND JULIET (six month Italian tour), EINSTEIN’S DREAMS (Hoxton Hall) directed by Claude Chagrin. His acting work with Les Enfants Terribles includes the award winning productions of WEST (Assembly Rooms); IMMACULATE (Gilded Balloon) and THE INFANT (Pleasance). Television and Film includes The Bill, Dream Team, Eastenders, and Steven Poliakoff’s Perfect Strangers.
IMOGEN ROBERTSON: General Manager
Imogen joined Les Enfants Terribles in May 2015 after working at Emma Brunjes Productions and Paines Plough. She is a graduate of the Creative Producing MA at Birkbeck, and is especially interested in developing new plays and has produced a variety of new writing for theatre.
ANTHONY HOLLIS: Head of Production
Anthony joined Les Enfants Terribles as Head of Production in 2016 from Fourth Monkey Theatre Company where he was Technical Production Manager for a number of years. He has previously worked in a variety of venues ranging from from warehouses and basements to Canterbury Cathedral. He has a particular interest in site specific and immersive productions.
FIONA PORRITT: Assistant Producer
Fiona originally joined the company in February 2014 as an intern. Since then, she graduated with a degree in Theatre from Brunel University and came on board with LET full time. Fiona also works as a freelance producer and has a great interest in collaborative and devised theatre.
ORAN DOYLE: Production Associate
Oran studied History at the University of York before deciding to move into theatre initially as a musical director. After working on the Fringe as a MD and a producer, he graduated from the MA Creative Producing course at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
NICOLE DOUAY: Company and Finance Administrator
Nicole studied Biochemistry at King’s College London, where she was part of the Stage Crew society. After completing the National Youth Theatre’s Stage Management course, she decided to pursue a full time career in theatre. She has a particular interest in new writings and diversity in theatre.
ALANA JEFFERY: Marketing & PR Assistant
Alana graduated from the University of Sussex & University of California, Berkeley and originally joined the company as a marketing intern in 2017. She came on board full time in January 2018 as a Marketing & PR Assistant.
SAMUEL WYER: Designer
Samuel’s Les Enfants design credits include – THE TRENCH, THE MARVELLOUS IMAGINARY MENAGERIE, THE VAUDEVILLIANS, THE TERRIBLE INFANTS, LA PETIT MORT, ANYONE FOR TEA and ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND.
Samuel’s other theatre credits include THE ELAPHANTOM (The National Theatre, New London Theatre), THE HUSH HOUR UNDER THE EIDERDOWN and THE SPACE INVADERS AGENCY for Punchdrunk, THE LIGHT PRINCESS (Assistant Designer and Illustrator), ALL’S WELL THAT END’S WELL (Shadow Puppet and Shadow Scenery Designer) for The National Theatre. THE JABBERWOCKY (Wilderness Festival), A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Petersham Playhouse).
ANTHONY SPARGO: Associate Writer
Anthony’s Les Enfants writing credits include – ANYONE FOR TEA, THE MARVELLOUS IMAGINARY MENAGERIE, ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND and ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. He has written and starred in numerous short films – ‘Lenny Beige: Legend to Legend with Liam Gallagher’, ‘Gregory Humphreys Presents a Complete History of Britain’ and ‘A Woodcutters Tale’.
His acting credits include – ‘HORRIBLE HISTORIES – Barmy Britain Parts 1, 2 and 3! (Garrick Theatre). Schizophrenic ventriloquist Albert Frog in Les Enfants’ VAUDEVILLIANS (Charing Cross Theatre), Salvador Dali in HYSTERIA (The English Theatre of Frankfurt), The Sheriff of Nottingham in ROBIN HOOD (Greenwich Theatre), Samedi in THE INFANT and Ernest in ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON (Les Enfants Terribles).
EMMA EARLE: Associate Director
Emma trained at the National Theatre Studio and the Bristol Old Vic. She is Co- Artistic Director of Pins and Needles Productions (Associate Company of the egg, Theatre Royal Bath). Emma has directed all Pins and Needles’ shows to date including the world premiere of Raymond Briggs’ FATHER CHRISTMAS.
As Associate Director for Les Enfants Terribles she has directed a number of immersive installations – venues include the V&A Museum and the Old Vic Tunnels. JOE HUFTON: Associate Director
Joe Hufton’s recent work includes THE COLLECTOR (The Vaults), PORTIA (Theatre503), MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Shakespeare in the Squares).
He has worked extensively in immersive theatre and regularly for Les Enfants Terribles, most recently directing THE TIME PORTAL. He was associate director for the Olivier nominated ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND and DINNER AT THE TWITS’, and performance director for Secret Cinema’s BACK TO THE FUTURE.
Additional work includes Offie nominated SCARLET (Southwark Playhouse) and FABLE for The Flanagan Collective (Summerhall, Greenwich Theatre and The Soho Playhouse, New York).
TOMAS GISBY: Composer
Tomas is a Composer, Sound Designer, Performer, and Editor. He has worked with Les Enfants Terribles since their inception, including THE TERRIBLE INFANTS and ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON. With Oliver Lansley he co-created and composed THE VAUDEVILLAINS.
As an Editor Tomas has worked on the BAFTA winning BEN AND HOLLY’S LITTLE KINGDOM and PEPPA PIG. Tomas recently composed for Powderkeg/Greenwich Theatre’s JENNIFER SKYLARK AND THE SEAGULL’S HANDBOOK, Les Petits Theatre Company’s CAPTAIN FLINN AND THE PIRATE DINOSAURS, and Les Enfants Terribles’ DR LONGITUDE’S MARVELLOUS IMAGINARY MENAGERIE.
