A talented company with a very sure sense of its own distinctive storytelling style.
Razor-sharp theatre group Les Enfants Terribles
A company very adept at showing how physicalised story-telling is at the heart of some of the best theatre around.
As the name of his company suggests, Oliver Lansley of Les Enfants Terribles has actually found that winning formula of talent, charm and absolute irreverence – think, really cool top of the class kid.
An Innovative Theatre Company
Les Enfants Terribles have created a hugely distinctive style of theatre, one that is whimsical, lyrical and full of depth. (They are) a very special company that deserves to go far.
Since 2002, London company Les Enfants Terribles has been at the sharp end of such thrillingly piercing theatre.
Is there anything that Les Enfants Terribles can do wrong? Missing a show would constitute somewhat of a sacrilege… always a sign of quality theatre.
Two of my favourite things are Les Enfants Terribles and Theatre of the Absurd
Les Enfants Terribles are known for their deliciously lyrical gothic storytelling, theatrical daring and unpretentious sense of fun
Dark, macabre and thrilling, ‘Les Infants Terribles’ know how to put on a show
Les Enfants Terribles have built a formidable reputation for playfully macabre tales mixing drama, music and inventive staging to create gothic fantasies reminiscent of Tim Burton’s oeuvre
Text and theatricality intersect in the work of a company very adept at showing how physicalised story-telling is at the heart of some of the best theatre around.
One can always be assured with every production staged by Les Enfants Terrible and that is that the performance will be spot on, well written, brilliantly staged and their inventive use of multi-mediums will be exploited to the full.
This company are going from strength to strength and, rather than outgrowing the fringe, are pushing the boundaries of the scale and quality of work it is capable of producing. Outstanding.
At the end of the day, whatever Les Enfants do, they always do it in their own unique and original style, and do it damn well.
With their innovative methods of story-telling that never fail to spark the imagination, Les Enfants Terribles have rocketed from small-scale company with a knack for producing great work on a shoestring, to a critically acclaimed tour de force with an international following.
It is easy to understand the devotion from those who lap up their macabre and grotesque patchwork, sewn together with cleverly-written and excellently-played music.
A very confident and inventive young company, really setting the standard for what can be achieved
